Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency/PIB, Kolkata: In a significant step towards enhancing its logistics capabilities and meeting the growing demand for faster and reliable delivery services, the Department of Posts has launched three premium day-definite delivery products — “24 Speed Post”, “24 Speed Post Parcel” and “48 Speed Post.”
The services were formally launched today during a national event held at New Delhi. The launch ceremony was graced by Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Communications, and Shri Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Union Minister of State for Communications.
Senior officials including Smt Vandita Kaul, Secretary (Posts) and Shri Jitendra Gupta, Director General (Postal Services) were also present on the occasion along with other senior officers of the Department.
The event was simultaneously witnessed across the country through live link arrangements in various postal circles. In West Bengal, the regional event was organised at Yogayog Bhawan, Kolkata, where senior officers of the West Bengal Circle and members of the media joined the national programme.
The newly introduced services are designed to offer assured and time-bound delivery solutions in response to the rapidly evolving logistics and e-commerce landscape.
“24 Speed Post” and “24 Speed Post Parcel” are designed to provide next-day delivery services between identified locations, while “48 Speed Post” will offer a reliable two-day delivery commitment across a wider network. These services are expected to benefit individuals, businesses and e-commerce stakeholders by providing faster and more predictable delivery timelines.
