Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: "On the eve of the elections, the war of words between Humayun Kabir and Amit Shah has reached a fever pitch! The outgoing MLA from Bharatpur has launched an explosive counter-attack in response to Shah's challenge regarding the construction of a 'Babri Masjid' in Bengal. From the controversy surrounding a '1,000-crore deal' to scrutiny by the ED and CBI—this conflict has now become the central topic of discussion in state politics. Read on for the full details. 'If Amit Shah is truly his father's son, let him show me by demolishing my Babri Masjid within 24 hours.'" This public warning was issued to the country's Home Minister on the eve of the elections by Humayun Kabir, the outgoing MLA from Bharatpur. Simultaneously, hurling a direct challenge at State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he declared, "If she has the power, let her show me by arresting me." Responding to the allegations leveled against him by Mamata and Abhishek regarding the alleged 1,000-crore deal, the Chairman of the Janata Unnayan Party stated today, "It is being alleged against me that I have taken 400 crore rupees. During the Election Commission's naka-checking (roadblocks), if someone carries just 2 lakh rupees, the central forces immediately apprehend them. Yet, if I have indeed taken 400 crore rupees—whether I have hidden that money underground at my home or elsewhere—let them find it if they have the guts. Has the IB (Intelligence Bureau) failed? The Election Commission possesses immense power; why, then, are they unable to take action against me? Unable to confront me in a direct political battle, they are instead resorting to slander and malicious propaganda against me."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has categorically dismissed the uproar that erupted in state politics on the eve of the elections, centering on a viral video featuring the controversial former Trinamool leader, Humayun Kabir. The ruling party had alleged that, in the said video, Humayun Kabir was heard discussing a 1,000-crore deal with the BJP aimed at toppling the Trinamool government. Speaking at a press conference today following the release of the BJP's election manifesto, Shah stated, "Humayun Kabir and the BJP are like the North Pole and the South Pole—they can never be united. Mamata Banerjee possesses the capability to fabricate 2,000 such videos." Shah further added that the BJP considers it preferable to sit in the opposition for 20 years rather than form a government with those who advocate for the construction of a ‘Babri Masjid’ in Bengal.

On the other hand, Humayun Kabir—the outgoing MLA from Bharatpur and Chairman of the Janata Unnayan Party—has claimed that this video is completely ‘fake’ and ‘AI-generated.’ Questioning the authenticity of the 19-minute video circulated by the Trinamool, he issued a counter-challenge, stating, “If Mamata Banerjee has the guts, let her arrest me. It is being alleged that I accepted an advance payment of 400 crore rupees. If one gets caught carrying just 2 lakh rupees during a routine check by the Election Commission, then where exactly did I hide 400 crore rupees? Did the IB fail?” Humayun further warned that if Abhishek Banerjee and Firhad Hakim fail to provide proof of this alleged deal, he will seek legal recourse.
