Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: On the day of the first phase of elections in West Bengal, Dr. Chandrachud Goswami, the candidate of Tollygunge constituency and state president of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, one of India's oldest political parties, campaigned on the path of hardline Hindutva. When protests are intensifying across the country over the allegations of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindu employees of the famous eyewear company Lenskart, Chandrachud Babu and his party members went to almost every Lenskart showroom in Tollygunge Assembly constituency and South Kolkata and tied tilaks on the foreheads and religious threads on the hands of the employees. Along with this, they were given flowers and prasad of Kalighat's mother Kali. Not only that, a letter of denunciation and a distorted picture of Lenskart company owner Piyush Bansal were handed over to the Lenskart employees. The picture of Lenskart owner Piyush Bansal was displayed in front of the shop and along with that, the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha West Bengal province appealed to people to refrain from buying glasses from this company until Piyush apologizes. However, on behalf of the Hindu Mahasabha, the state president Dr. Chandrachud Goswami assured the Lenskart company and shop employees that we have no problem with you. We are fighting to protect your religious rights and feelings. But your owner Piyush Bansal should know that India is a country of Hindus and the majority of the people in this country are Hindus, so he should have thought ten times before giving any instructions or fatwas to the company employees. We demand the arrest and exemplary punishment of the Lenskart owner from the Indian government. The Hindu Mahasabha will not tolerate the insult of tradition at any cost. If necessary, we will stop the sale of Lenskart products in India through a mass movement involving the people of a larger part of India. We will also appeal to the people to buy glasses only from those lens shop showrooms or shops that have pictures or statues of Goddess Lakshmi or Siddhidata Ganesh. Because India is a country of Hindus, if anyone offends Hindu or traditional sentiments here, there will be a Lankakanda and those who disrespect Sanatan will be forced to leave the country by closing down their businesses in the name of secularism. But this time we are determined to protest, resist and take revenge if necessary. In addition to Hindu Mahasabha State President Dr. Chandrachud Goswami, several state leaders including Anamika Mandal, Srimanta Palit, Priyobrata Mukherjee, Soma De Mandal, Sutapa Das, Manoj Chatterjee, Devanarayan Ghosh were present at the election protest program today. There is no doubt that Hindu Mahasabha will walk on the path of hardline Hindutva in the days to come even after the elections.
