The vacation is set to begin on April 27th in Odisha—a crucial measure aimed at safeguarding the health of children. Meanwhile, speculation regarding this matter continues in other states, including West Bengal. The intensity of the heat has been steadily rising across the state. On Friday, the Education Department announced the advancement of the summer vacation for all schools within the state. The Chief Minister has declared that all educational institutions in the state will remain closed starting April 27th. The government has taken this decision to protect children from the adverse effects of the extreme heat. The summer vacation has now been officially declared.
This decision was taken by the Odisha government. Heatwave conditions have been intensifying throughout Odisha; against this backdrop, the summer vacation was brought forward to ensure the well-being of the children. Tomorrow marks the last day of school. The vacation will commence following the completion of classes on the 25th. The 26th falls on a Sunday—a day when all schools remain closed anyway—and the vacation will officially begin on the 27th. Meanwhile, summer vacations have not yet commenced in Telangana and Uttarakhand. However, schools in those states are frequently providing breaks for students; a "water bell" is being rung to remind children to stay hydrated. This measure has been adopted by the government to prevent children from falling ill. In West Bengal, no official announcement regarding the vacation has been made yet. Nevertheless, everyone remains hopeful that the summer vacation might be brought forward in light of the current heatwave. It is widely anticipated that the vacation dates will be finalized and announced as the state approaches the upcoming elections; however, no such announcement has been made to date.
