Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in West Bengal for an election tour. Reports indicate that he will be in the state for two consecutive days—April 11 and 12. During this two-day itinerary, he is scheduled to address three public rallies in Katwa, Jangipur, and Balurghat. Additionally, after staying overnight in Siliguri on April 11, Prime Minister Modi will participate in a roadshow there on April 12. According to party sources, this schedule is currently considered final.
Today, Monday—marking the BJP's Foundation Day—Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with BJP workers and candidates from West Bengal via a 'bridge call.' There is considerable anticipation that, during this interaction, he may deliver important messages or offer advice regarding election-related matters.
During his campaign in Cooch Behar, the Prime Minister also addressed the Women's Reservation Act. He stated that efforts are underway to ensure that, starting from the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, women across the entire country—including those in West Bengal—are able to reap the benefits of this legislation. From the rally in Cooch Behar, he issued a 'call for change' directed at the women of the state. Prime Minister Modi further asserted that a state of 'Jungle Raj' (lawlessness) currently prevails in Bengal, and that the BJP is firmly committed to liberating the people of Bengal from this situation and securing a bright future for them.
