Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: Shefali Shah has shared her views on marriage, relationships, and having children. She pointed out how, in our society, marriage—along with the expectation of motherhood or fatherhood—creates a relentless pressure. Furthermore, she suggested that one might consider adopting a dog instead of having a child. Shefali Shah is one of those stars who never hesitates to speak her mind, whether the topic concerns the film industry or offering advice on her fans' lives. This time, Shefali has voiced her opinions regarding marriage, relationships, and the decision to have children. She noted how the societal norms surrounding marriage and parenthood impose a constant pressure on individuals. Additionally, she suggested that adopting a dog could be a viable alternative to having a child. In an interview, Shefali discussed relationships and advised young women against getting married too early. She stated, "It is better not to get married at a young age these days. For God's sake, don't do it. Before making such a monumental decision, you should meet the right person—and that means meeting many different people." She further added, "I tell everyone: if you believe in marriage, then believe this—it requires a lot of hard work." Shefali emphasized that marriage should not be taken lightly; one should only enter into a relationship when they have attained emotional maturity.

Addressing the fact that she is 37 years old and still unmarried, Shefali remarked, "May I say just one thing? I’m probably going to get heavily trolled for this, but... it’s better to adopt a dog than have a child." Shefali went on to say that, in a human's life, dogs are the only creatures that offer unconditional love. She added, "Back in the day, TV shows actually had an ending. There was a beginning, a middle, and then a conclusion. Now, there is no end anymore. The primary objective used to be creating good content—focusing on quality, not quantity. Whether back then, now, or whenever a show runs for 100 or 500 episodes... with daily soaps, you have to meet daily deadlines: you have to produce this, deliver that. And then, there are the TRPs. When I used to work in television, none of that existed."

Shefali further observed, "There used to be wonderful stories and a distinct narrative arc." "It wasn't the case that this character would be killed off, or the storyline altered, simply because the TRP ratings weren't good. That sort of thing hadn't happened before."

Incidentally, Shefali was previously married to television actor Harsh Chhaya. However, their marriage ended in divorce after four years. Subsequently, in 2000, Shefali married filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah. They have two children named Aryaman and Mauryaman. Shefali also has two pets, whom she loves just like her own children; one is named Ash and the other, Simba. Shefali frequently shares photos and videos featuring them.
