Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: The 'Janatar Darbar' (People's Court) commenced at the Salt Lake BJP party office at 9:00 AM. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is present at the venue. The 'Janatar Darbar' is a new initiative introduced by the BJP government. Although the program was originally scheduled to begin in full swing on June 1st, the Chief Minister himself participated in the 'Janatar Darbar' today at the Salt Lake BJP office. The 'Janatar Darbar' is a novel program of the BJP. Its primary objective is to directly receive complaints from the general public—whether regarding difficulties in accessing government services, issues concerning the housing scheme (Awas Yojana), the 100-day work scheme, or any other matter—and to ensure their swift resolution. Common people from various parts of the district have already gathered at the Salt Lake BJP office.
Complaints are being received on behalf of the Chief Minister through a registration process. Through this registration system, 10 groups (comprising 4 members each) participated in the Chief Minister's 'Janatar Darbar' program today. Many individuals took the opportunity provided by the 'Janatar Darbar' today to voice their grievances to the Chief Minister.
Just last Friday, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced on behalf of the BJP that the 'Janatar Darbar' initiative would now be launched in the state. This 'Janatar Darbar' is scheduled to be held for two hours, once or twice a week. One or two administrative officials will also be present alongside the Chief Minister. Accordingly, the proceedings of the 'Janatar Darbar' commenced today.
According to sources, top-ranking officials of the state administration began making preparations for this new initiative as early as last week. Party sources indicated that a comprehensive plan regarding the operational modalities of the 'Janatar Darbar' is currently being formulated. Notably, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already launched a 'Janatar Darbar' initiative. Furthermore, similar public outreach programs have been initiated in other states. The Chief Minister of Odisha, for instance, has launched a program titled 'Jana Sunani' (Public Hearing). Now, the newly elected ruling party in this state has also launched its own version of the 'Janatar Darbar.'
