Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta put an end to all speculations by presenting the first budget in the assembly. He announced a groundbreaking scheme for the job seekers of the state, which has been named 'Bharsa'. Under this mega scheme, financial assistance of Rs 3,000 will be given directly to the bank accounts of unemployed graduates of the state every month. And those who are not graduates will get Rs 2,000 every month.

Earlier this year, the 'Yuvasathi' scheme was launched for the unemployed during the tenure of the then government. But after the historic change in the state, a big doubt arose in the minds of job seekers that after the new government comes to power, will this unemployment allowance be stopped forever? Today, the Finance Minister's mega announcement has put an end to all those fears. However, the government has set some specific conditions to get the benefits of this 'Bharsa' scheme. The Finance Minister said that the age of the unemployed youth applying must be between 21 and 45 years.

In addition, it is mandatory for the applicant's family's annual income to be less than 1 lakh rupees. Moreover, if the applicant is already receiving the benefits of any other social development scheme of the government, he will not be able to come under the scope of this scheme. The specific procedure for applying for this scheme and when the money will start being given will be announced very soon through a notification.

Not only unemployment allowance, but also the government of Subhendu Adhikari has taken a bunch of big decisions regarding higher education and career development of students. Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta has announced that students of government and government-run colleges will be given a one-time special financial assistance of Rs 25,000 so that they can properly prepare for various competitive exams (such as UPSC, WBCS, banking, etc.).

In addition, this budget proposes to introduce 3D animation courses to promote employment-oriented education in the state. A state-of-the-art 'Sports University' will be set up in the state for the overall development of the sports sector. At the same time, the Finance Minister has made a historic announcement to set up a new 'Tribal University' in Jhargram to provide higher education to the backward students of Jangalmahal.
