In this situation, Manas approached the Calcutta High Court fearing arrest. He has filed a petition for protection. What is the exact matter? The name of the complainant is Bikash Kumar Tung. He is a resident of Bishnupur Gram Panchayat area of ​​Sabang Assembly. He filed a complaint at Sabang Police Station. The young man claims that before the 2026 assembly elections, his wife Manju Sahu Tung was promised a job. The complaint is that the job was arranged for five lakh rupees through Trinamool leaders Sheikh Abu Kalam Box and Bholanath through the mediation of the then Minister Dr. Manas Ranjan Bhunia. The charge sheet states that on March 1, 2026, Manju Sahu Tung joined the Temathani Irrigation Bungalow as a STEWARD under 'CISB Services Private Limited'. His workman register number was CISB/WB-46. The family claims that after joining the service, he worked regularly, but after just two months, on May 6, he was informed that his job had been cancelled. It is alleged that a copy of the order to cancel the job was also sent through WhatsApp. Based on the complaint of the young man, the Sabang police station registered a case under sections 318(4) and 61(2) of the Indian Penal Code. A notice was sent to the former minister. After that, he applied for anticipatory bail in the Medinipur District Court. But the hearing of the case was postponed. In this situation, Manas Bhuiyan approached the Calcutta High Court. Although the former minister has been claiming from the beginning that the allegations against him are completely baseless. In his words, "In my 56 years of political life, from 34 years of CPM to so many years of Trinamool rule, no one has ever raised a finger against me. We have worked for the people, benefited the people."
