Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: Sudip traveled from Kolkata to Delhi on Saturday morning; Satabdi took the same flight. Upon arrival, the two left the airport in the same vehicle. The rebellion within the Trinamool parliamentary party in the Lok Sabha is intensifying, and now Sudip Bandyopadhyay appears poised to join the rebel camp. On Saturday, the MP from Kolkata North was spotted in the same car as rebel MP Satabdi Roy in Delhi. They drove together from the airport to the residence of BJP leader and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav. The two went straight to Bhupendra’s home, where a meeting was already underway. Notably, several rounds of meetings involving Trinamool’s rebel MPs have taken place at the Union Minister's residence over the past few days. Barasat MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Satabdi are leading this rebel faction. Against this backdrop, Sudip traveling in the same car as the ‘wayward’ Satabdi to the Union Minister’s house is highly significant.
Sudip traveled from Kolkata to Delhi on Saturday morning, as did Satabdi on the same flight. After landing, Sudip left the Delhi airport in the same car as Satabdi, the rebel MP from Birbhum. Trinamool has been in a state of unprecedented turmoil since the state assembly elections. Party leader Mamata Banerjee has lost control over the legislative party in the assembly. Last Monday, the rift within the Lok Sabha parliamentary party also became glaringly apparent, with the vast majority of the party's MPs slipping out of Mamata's control. Coincidentally, when this ‘MP rebellion’ within Trinamool came to light last Monday, Mamata and Abhishek were in Delhi. While they were attending meetings of the opposition alliance ‘INDIA’, the party was fracturing in the Lok Sabha.
On that day, Kakoli—a key face of the rebel camp—claimed that they had the support of approximately 20 MPs and intended to back the BJP-led NDA coalition at the Centre. Meanwhile, a document bearing several signatures surfaced on Friday. It contained the signatures of 19 Trinamool MPs, although Sudip's signature was not among them. Amidst this, the Trinamool MP from Kolkata North arrived at Bhupendra's residence on Saturday, accompanied by Satabdi.
