Montra Electric, India’s full-spectrum electric commercial brand, officially marked its entry into West Bengal by inaugurating its first state-of-the-art electric small commercial vehicle (e-SCV) dealership in Howrah, Kolkata. The launch event, in partnership with Next Drive Mobility, brought Montra Electric’s EVIATORe-SCV to the region’s rapidly evolving last-mile delivery ecosystem in compliance with regulations. This comes at a time when the brand’s national presence is rapidly growing.

The event was attended by key industry stakeholders, regional partners and fleet managers, who are eager to experience the future of eco-friendly and efficient vehicles. The centre was jointly inaugurated by Saju Nair, CEO, e-SCV, Montra Electric; Saurabh Khatan, Dealer Principal, Next Drive Mobility; Devansh Agarwal and Sudarshan Sharda. The new centre is now fully operational. Designed as a one-stop marketing, service and parts hub, it is designed to maximise vehicle uptime for local logistics operations.

Speaking on the launch, Saju Nair, CEO, e-SCV, Montra Electric, said, “We are excited to inaugurate our first dealership in Kolkata today. This is a significant moment in Montra Electric’s efforts to expand its presence across India. We are entering this market from a strong position. Our EVIATOR fleet has just crossed the 1,000-unit mark nationally and operating these vehicles is giving real confidence to the Kolkata customers. The registration figures speak for themselves. Commercial vehicles in West Bengal are still running on diesel to a greater extent than anywhere else in India, and electrification is still not here beyond small commercial vehicles. The aim of opening this dealership is to fill this gap, starting from Howrah. Through this dealership, we aim to provide best-in-class marketing and after-sales support to the customers. Our partnership with Next Drive Mobility is in line with our shared vision of greener, smarter and more efficient regional mobility.”
Saurabh Khetan, Dealer Principal, Next Drive Mobility, added, “We are proud to partner with Montra Electric and bring EVIATOR to Kolkata’s growing commercial ecosystem. Today’s launch is a timely response to the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions among regional fleet operators. Kolkata and Howrah have already shown higher EV adoption among light commercial vehicles than the rest of the state. We see this as proof that our timing was right. Armed with Montra Electric’s strong product engineering and our deeply customer-centric approach, we are eager to provide best-in-class experience to vehicle owners and help drive the region’s eco-friendly transformation. We will replace diesel vehicles one by one.”

Montra Electric’s expanded EVIATOR product portfolio includes E350 (32 kWh), E350L (40 kWh), and E350L+ (50 kWh) options. Specifically designed for multi-purpose urban logistics, the platform is designed to carry a payload of 1.7 tonnes with a 10.3 ft loading deck, enabling efficient city-to-city freight movement. Powered by an advanced liquid-cooled lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, the vehicle has a practical range of 200 km+ and can be charged with CCS2 DC fast charging. It can be charged to 80% in about 60 minutes. EVIATOR has D+2 seating. In addition, both the battery and the vehicle come with an extended warranty of up to seven years, flexible Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) options, and a running cost of just ₹2.35 per km. This is the best in the industry. The launch of this vehicle marks the industry’s shift towards high-performance, electric vehicles specializing in urban logistics.

With the opening of the Kolkata hub, Montra Electric continues to aggressively grow its national presence through a dedicated, robust network of eSCV dealerships. This presence is now built on real-world performance data from over 1,000 vehicles, thereby shaping the future of last-mile logistics with smart, reliable and carbon-neutral vehicles.
