The visit highlighted HUHT’s innovative, field-tested educational model that seeks to operationalise the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by integrating mainstream academic curriculum with practical rural skills and experiential learning, contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
During his visit, the Hon’ble Governor interacted with around 1,000 tribal and rural girl students receiving 100% free residential education. He also met parents visiting from various districts of West Bengal.
The Governor toured live student-led learning spaces showcasing 18 integrated skill domains, including agriculture, textiles and rural architecture. The model also incorporates renewable energy, technology and entrepreneurship, demonstrating how experiential learning can be integrated with core academic subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Languages.
Beyond functioning as a residential campus, Adhigam Bhoomi serves as an educational laboratory designed for systemic expansion. HUHT’s contextual learning approach, titled “Apni Mitti Se Judi Shiksha”, has already demonstrated proof of scale through its 100 Schools Project, reaching more than 10,000 students across low-cost private schools in West Bengal.
To support wider adoption, HUHT has developed a comprehensive, ready-to-deploy implementation package comprising teacher manuals, student resources, assessment tools and monitoring systems. The framework is designed to integrate skill-based and contextual learning into existing State Board curricula without displacing core academics.
Speaking about the initiative, Ms. Mukti Gupta, Managing Director at Mukti Group and Founder of Help Us Help Them (HUHT), emphasised that the organisation’s core philosophy is rooted in connecting education with local culture and traditional skills while preparing children for modern livelihoods.
She said the integration of practical, hands-on learning with academic excellence can create a scalable ecosystem that promotes rural innovation, self-reliance and entrepreneurship. The initiative aims to empower children to become creators of opportunities rather than merely seekers of jobs.
As the National Education Policy 2020 places strong emphasis on skill-integrated learning, HUHT plans to collaborate with both the Central and State Governments to support its implementation across rural India.
With more than 12 lakh government schools across India, including nearly 4 lakh schools serving Grades 6 to 10, HUHT has developed a comprehensive roadmap and implementation framework that it intends to present to the Government for institutional support and wider integration of contextual, skill-based education.
HUHT’s long-term goal is to empower rural government schools across India by 2031. By aligning grassroots learning with national education priorities, the initiative seeks to nurture self-sustaining learners, rural entrepreneurs and future community leaders, contributing to sustainable development in rural India.
