Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency: The United Forum of Bank Unions had called for a three-day bank strike from tomorrow, September 28, on multiple demands including 5 working days a week. As a result, keeping in mind the suffering of customers, the banks were open today, Sunday. Finally, the bank employees' organization gave good news for the people at night. Today, the United Forum of Bank Unions issued a statement saying that the decision to suspend the strike for the time being was taken in the meeting after reaching a compromise. That is, work will continue in the banks as usual. Members of the Indian Banks Association (IBA) and the United Forum of Bank Unions met in Delhi to find a solution. There was a long discussion on two demands. The first is a 5-day working day in a week and the difference in incentives. It is reported that a decision has been taken to form a committee to come to a decision on both. Because, if the banks are closed for 2 days, it will be a problem for the public. Therefore, it is possible to find out how to deal with that aspect first and then fulfill the holiday demand.
Bank unions have been agitating for two days a week for a long time. Bank employees had observed a one-day nationwide strike on September 11. Since their demands were not met, the bank employees' organization announced a three-day strike from September 28 to September 30. Just before the strike days, September 26 (fourth Saturday) and September 27 (Sunday). As a result, if the strike was added to this weekly holiday, banking services would have been completely closed for a total of five consecutive days. If this situation were to happen, the public could face extreme problems during the festive season. Small traders may also face problems. As a result, the Reserve Bank was forced to decide to keep banks open on Sunday, September 27. As per that order, banks were open today, i.e., Sunday, September 27.

However, at the same time, members of the Indian Banks Association (IBA) and the United Forum of Bank Unions met in Delhi to find a solution to the problem. According to sources, there was a long discussion on two demands. The first is the difference between a 5-day working week and incentives. It is said that a decision has been taken to form a committee to come to a decision on both. Because, if the banks are closed for 2 days, there will be problems for the public. Therefore, it is possible to meet the demand for leave by finding out how to deal with that first. Meanwhile, it is said that there was a positive discussion on incentives. After that, the United Forum of Bank Unions, i.e. the workers' organization, informed that there will be no strike for the time being. That is, work will continue as usual in banks from Monday to Wednesday. It goes without saying that this decision has given relief to the public.
