Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency/PIB: ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CIFRI), Barrackpore, has achieved a significant breakthrough in fisheries research and innovation by obtaining Indian Patent No. 600617 on August 27, 2026 for the invention titled “A Process for Nanoemulsifiable Concentrate Formulations of Hydrophobic Bioactive Molecules”.
The patented technology is a significant breakthrough in the production of hydrophobic bioactive molecules and has been successfully transformed into CIFRI ARGCURE®, an innovative product formulated for arugula and fish.
This patent is important in the field of fisheries innovation, intellectual property protection and commercialization of the technology.
CIFRI ARGCURE® has been commercialized twice by Agrinovate India Limited. The grant of this patent provides intellectual property protection to the technology and further strengthens the intellectual property portfolio of ICAR-CIFRI.
Speaking about this achievement, Dr. Pradeep Dey, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, said that this patent is not only a scientific recognition but also demonstrates the ability to translate research into practical solutions to real problems in fisheries and aquaculture.
