Jadavpur should be renamed as Rishi Aurobindo University’, demands Sarbori

Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency: According to Sarbori, this university was built by Rishi Aurobindo. She has demanded that the name of the university be changed based on his principles and ideals. On Thursday, from the stage of Jadavpur, Sarbori said, “Jadavpur University should be renamed as Rishi Aurobindo University.” At the same time, she gave a message of united struggle against anti-state forces. BJP MLA Sarbori Mukherjee has demanded that the name of Jadavpur University be changed. According to her, this university was built by Rishi Aurobindo. She has demanded that the name of the university be changed based on his principles and ideals. On Thursday, from the stage of Jadavpur, Sarbori said, “Jadavpur University should be renamed as Rishi Aurobindo University.” Besides, the Jadavpur MLA gave a message of united fight against anti-state forces. On Thursday, ABVP had a program on the Jadavpur University campus with a tricolor march, Vande Mataram song and national flag. ABVP also put up pictures of various scholars on the campus. Later, the Haripada Bharati Smriti Raksha Samiti organized a Veda mantra reading and Vande Mataram song on the Triguna Sen stage. Rahul Sinha, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, Sharvari Mukherjee spoke on the program. Sharvari Mukherjee raised the demand for changing the name of Jadavpur University from that stage. 

What did Sharvari Mukherjee say?

Speaking out against statism, Sharvari said, "Isn't it a big deal that Triguna Sen is standing on the stage talking about nationalism? Is this a small fight that we are standing here talking about statism against Maoism, against Leninism? The fight that we could not have fought if on May 4, 2026, we, the people of West Bengal, had united. All Hindus came together and hoisted the victory flag. If the result had been a little different, then the entire West Bengal would have witnessed a massacre in Jadavpur. I said it with responsibility. My words will be distorted again. But my words cannot be distorted and bent. My words, my saree, my hair, my tip, my kajal, my lipstick cannot be criticized and my steel spine cannot be bent. Criticize as much as you want. I will say one thing from the stage, if I speak against statism, there will be protests." 

Demand for changing the name of Jadavpur University

Sharbari, demanding the name of the university, said, "We have to stay united. We have to stay united. The more we can unite ourselves, the more we can unite, the more you will know that the anti-national forces will retreat, the anti-state forces will retreat. We, from the place of the principles and ideals of the one who created this university, let us call from this platform, if necessary, we will submit a mass petition to the Higher Education Department. If necessary, we will also submit a mass petition to the Honorable Chief Minister and our Union Education Minister that the name of Jadavpur University be changed to Rishi Aurobindo University. This will be the pride of Jadavpur. This will be the pride of Jadavpur."
