Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency: It is said that a father's son, a soldier's horse, a little bit of a No, Vedant has chosen a different world. Leaving the world of illusion on the silver screen for real combat. And that is the world of sports. To put it bluntly, it will be easier to understand the swimming pool. It is not for swimming as a hobby, but by competing at the international level and establishing himself by coming out of the shadow of the stardom of his father and Madhavan.

Initially, Vedant succeeded in that goal. 21-year-old Vedant has been selected as a member of the Indian swimming team in the 2026 Asian Games. Freestyle swimmer Vedant will create a stir in the swimming pool of the Aichi-Nagoya Games in Japan, father and Madhavan and mother Sarita Birje are waiting for this. Unlike others, they never forced Vedant to enter the cinema. Rather, seeing his son's interest in sports, or rather swimming, they have always encouraged him to succeed in that event. And as a result, Vedant has been able to identify his breed in freestyle swimming. He has already won medals by representing India in various international competitions.

And Vedant has qualified for the 2026 Japan Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya on his own merit. He will be seen competing alongside veteran Olympians Srihari Nataraj and Sajan Prakash in the 12-member Indian swimming team.

Vedant generally prefers to compete in longer distance swimming events. But that is not possible in Aichi-Nagoya for the sake of the country's swimming team. And because of that, Vedant has to take advice from the Indian team's dietician about his diet and also undergo special training. Regarding this, Vedant said, 'I have been doing different training for the last few months. Because I am basically a long distance specialist swimmer. But in the upcoming Asian Games, I will compete in the 200m freestyle event, which is a bit out of my comfort zone. For that, I have also emphasized weight training to increase leg strength, kick, and ankle flexibility.’

What kind of mentality does one need to have when competing on a big stage like the Asian Games, when the eyes of crores of people in the country will be on him? And especially where his name is associated with the fame of his father and Madhavan. To this question, Vedant's response was, ‘First of all, I do not enter the swimming pool with any pressure to compete keeping in mind the identity of my parents. I will not enter the Asian Games either. My only goal will be to achieve good results. If I set my goal to reach the distant starry land, only then will I be able to set foot on the moon.’
