This is a new satirical campaign against Trump by Iran. The video was released soon after the Republicans' poor results in the elections.
The Iranian embassy in India has previously mocked US President Donald Trump with an 'X'. But the timing of this attack is quite significant.
What happened in the election
In the US midterm elections held on November 3, Americans voted for 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate and the governorship of 36 states. One of the big events took place in the state of Maine. There, five-term Republican Senator Suzanne Collins conceded defeat to her Democratic rival. Elsewhere, vote counting is still underway. History has not been in Trump's favor. Typically, in midterm elections, the party of the ruling president loses an average of 28 seats in the House of Representatives and four seats in the Senate.
The trend of using memes is increasing
This is not an isolated incident. This year, Iranian embassies have turned the 'X' into a meme battlefield.
Such activities by the Iranian embassy in India are not new. After the ceasefire was announced, they posted an AI-generated image of Trump kneeling in front of a statue of a horseman flying the Iranian flag. In April, the Iranian consulate in Mumbai, India, commented that Trump needed a “one-way cultural detox.” This was because of a post by Trump in which he called India a “hellhole.” India criticized the comment as ignorant and tasteless. In September, the Iranian embassy in Tunisia used a meme of actor Akshay Kumar. In it, they wrote to Trump, “How is the president doing now, elections are coming up.”
Behind the humor lies a deeper conflict. Since February, the United States and Israel have been attacking Iran. Sanctions have been imposed. This has damaged Iran’s oil exports. In September, the price of oil crossed $100. This has also affected American domestic politics. Because voters are very sensitive about energy costs and wary of getting involved in any foreign conflicts.
