Bibhas Lodh, BS News Agency: Football fans across the globe are set to revel in the excitement of the FIFA 2026 World Cup. For the first time, FIFA has organized three separate opening ceremonies—to be held in Mexico, Canada, and the United States—aimed at making the start of the tournament truly memorable. FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that following the World Cup's kickoff in Mexico City on June 11, opening ceremonies will take place the next day in Toronto, Canada, and Los Angeles, USA.

On June 11 at 10:30 PM (Indian Standard Time), the opening ceremony will be held at Mexico City's historic Azteca Stadium; immediately afterward, at 12:30 AM, Mexico will face South Africa in the tournament's opening match. Singer Shakira will be the star attraction at the Mexico City ceremony, taking the stage to perform the official World Cup song, "Dai Dai," alongside Nigerian singer Burna Boy. The opening ceremony in Toronto, Canada, is scheduled for June 12 at 11:00 PM (IST), followed by a match between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The US opening ceremony will take place on June 13 at 5:00 AM at the Inglewood Stadium in Los Angeles, immediately after which the United States will begin its World Cup campaign against Paraguay.
