Shovan Chatterjee's Security Guard Arrested!

Police from the Rabindra Sarobar Police Station have arrested Sanju Sharma, the personal security guard of former Kolkata Mayor Shovan Chatterjee. The arrest of this security guard—who faces grave charges including the molestation, physical assault, and attempted murder of Baishakhi Banerjee and her minor daughter—has sent shockwaves through political circles. According to sources, the entire altercation stemmed from a dispute over a leave request. After working continuously for 15 days, the accused security guard, Sanju Sharma, requested an additional 15 days of leave. When Shovan Chatterjee refused this request, a heated verbal exchange ensued. It is alleged that during this argument, Sanju Sharma began physically assaulting Baishakhi's minor daughter. Upon hearing her daughter's screams, Baishakhi rushed to the scene, whereupon she, too, was assaulted.

According to Baishakhi's complaint, Sanju Sharma did not merely beat her; he allegedly dragged her into a bedroom and locked the door. She further alleges that he threatened to kill her right in front of her daughter. Subsequently, other security guards entered the room and brought the situation under control. Realizing the gravity of the incident, Baishakhi Banerjee promptly filed a complaint at the Rabindra Sarobar Police Station. Acting swiftly upon receiving the complaint, the Rabindra Sarobar police arrested the accused, Sanju Sharma. He is currently being interrogated. The police are conducting a preliminary investigation to verify the veracity of the incident.

Neither Shovan Chatterjee nor Baishakhi Banerjee has issued an official statement regarding this incident yet. However, local residents and the political fraternity are utterly astonished by such behavior from a security guard within the former Mayor's residence. It is expected that the full truth and the underlying reasons behind the incident will become clear following the police investigation.
